Due to the store not being used in months and me being unemployed, EGC is broke. I didn't want to take this public until I had to; we have reached that point. Viper had to pay a chunk of the bills last month.

What this means is, we will be moving to a new provider. This new provider will cause some of us to have an increased ping due to it being located in Canada. Lucky for RoboCop and Aaron!  >:(

Also, we will unfortunately have to temporarily discontinue the EGCM brand. It uses too much resources and our new provider wouldn't accommodate it. If our financial situation improves, we can bring it back, but for now it'll have to go on hiatus.

The new system we will be using is not bad at all, it will certainly do the job in a cost effective fashion. It's just unfortunate we will need to retire EGCM for the foreseeable future.
I apologize for being the barer of bad news everyone.

Curiosity

Oh no! Not EGCM! Why oh why!

Sarcasm?

Anyways, this came as quite a shock as to the ordinary player it seems like business as usual and we don't see the cogs that make this place turn, hopefully more friendly yanks will turn up with the new server location, ey?  ???

Hopefully the situation improves anyways, good luck!

Mr Curiosity was trying to be humble but he has sent us a donation in hopes of helping EGC stay up. This has been greatly appreciated and will certainly help us out. Thank you mate!

GetIn

this is very unfortunate. i noticed the server is quite quick and responsive after the switch though so maybe not all bad

community will stick together through this hard time enig :)

This has not turned out bad at all - Other than losing EGCM & Rebel.

Even though this host is in America, it's A LOT more responsive, as GetIn said.
Logging in is instant, commands are instant, it would of stopped that spontaneous bug of the server crashing upon registration/login. Perhaps this was a blessing in disguise.
