Announcements / Two things you should know
« on: April 26, 2013, 04:15:09 pm »
Not exactly a major announcement (Unlike some places we don't post announcements for every single thing that happens just so we seem like we're doing something lmao) but it's Two things I wanted everybody to know!

Number one, a rule has been changed. Basically, criminals are now allowed to chase down cops who have players detained in their vehicle. I've spoken to a few people about this and they all seem to agree. There is no downside, it's more fun for every party involved. If there is any questions, queries or even points to be made about this rule change, please post here.

Number Two, for 1.5 we will have a new place to rob. The reason I tell you this is because it will require a rob skill that is not currently attainable.

Most players think 40 is the maximum rob skill available, it's actually currently 50. In 1.4 a robskill of 50 can be achieved by robbing Eggland's bank.

I recommend EVERYONE gets their rob skill up to 50 before 1.5 is released as the skill necessary for the new robbing place will actually be 60.

Don't worry, it'll be a lot easier to get it above Forty in 1.5. Robbing any bank or Caligs will get you up there in 1.5.

I am just letting you know this so when 1.5 comes out you're not frustrated thinking ffs I need to gain 20 rob skill before I can even rob the new place. So start preparing now!

Discuss Anything / Spit a verse

It is a double pleasure posting this topic.

1. It was a great topic from my former community that we all had a lot of fun with.
2. It was an old friend who convinced me to get it back up. That man is none other than the beloved TheJoker. This man is the co-creator of The Black Hand. A long time friend who I just today got back in contact with. he will be making the first rhyme here so I shall hand you over to this wonderful creation.  :)

Announcements / Staff sorting
« on: April 15, 2013, 06:48:41 am »
It is my displeasure to announce CR33P1ND43TH and Crow have been demoted for the time being. If a dramatic increase in their activity appears they will be reconsidered for their roles. However I doubt that will be the case. I know everyone is dissatisfied with the majority of the admin team and their activity. Myself and Wataki have been spending every waking hour working on 1.5. It is currently 6.30 AM, I haven't been too bed and won't be for another few hours while working on 1.5. It's unfair on me, Wataki and the players that the reports are going unanswered. It's also unfair on on the Admins that are actually active, left to deal with the extra work. So my eyes are open for hiring new administrators and my eyes are also on the current admin team for those who aren't pulling their weight. Over the next week or Two I expect some further drastic changes in the staff.

Again, I would like to personally apologize to the community. I will be doing everything in my power to ensure you can play on a rule break free server as soon as possible.

Version Discussion / Discuss 1.5
« on: April 06, 2013, 12:48:53 am »
1.5 will be by far our largest update so far in EGC. I have always planned on making this a massive update. It is half way through the series so it's a big deal, to me anyway!

We already have a gigantic amount planned for 1.5.  I shall list some things you can expect.

1) A new spawn menu that will be useable by all players. This is a lot better than it sounds.  ;)
2) Two new terrorist missions.
3) Massive optimizations.
4) A place where you can equip your vehicle with a car bomb. Remember 8 Ball's place in GTA 3?
5) A new firefighting system.

This is just a small, un-detailed list of things you can expect in 1.5. This update will be what brings ECNR and EGC as a whole to the next level.  ;)

We're well aware of the current downtime. The child minded just had to play with their toys, lmao.
Oh well, we'll have a new IRCd up within the hour and we will talk to you all then. Our community will triumph through all lads, don't you worry. Children are great when their ehm...children. Unfortunately grown men with kid brains is not so funny. SEEK HELP WILL YA'S.  ;D

Announcements / New Staff Member - eXon
« on: March 31, 2013, 02:16:14 pm »
eXon has been extremely active and helpful to everyone since joining EGC. He has proven he has the qualities needed to be an ECNR Administrator. He also covers a much needed timezone so that should add a whole new bunch of players. I'm sure he's going to do a fantastic job here.

Has anyone noticed how many American admins we have lol? Kinda crazy.  ???

Announcements / The Revival of FnF
« on: March 25, 2013, 01:07:19 pm »
I'm sure in recent weeks everyone has noticed the dramatic decline of Friday Night Festivites. What was once a much anticipated weekly function has turned into a poorly run afterthought.
Players not getting their prizes for weeks after winning, the schedule being posted on the day it's due to happen rather than in advance. The total number of winners not being updated and to be honest, just plain boring events.
Which is why we are doing a complete re-vamp. As of now, Hiredgun is the Manager of FnF. He will oversee all aspects of FnF and make sure everything runs according to plan. He has informed me he has many plans and innovations for this new Era of FnF. Aaron_Ewing, Creep & Saw will still be involved in FnF, but Hiredgun will be there for new ideas and to ensure none of the previous mistakes happen again.

At one time players spoke about FnF all week, in exitement and anticipation. Now such low number show up it's not worth doing. This will all change, starting this week. I have the utmost faith in Mr.Gun and he is going to deliver us the product FnF is intended to be.

General Server Discussion / Our first Elite member.
« on: March 13, 2013, 09:34:52 pm »
Littleman achieved the great honor of being our first "Elite" member. Reaching the 5,000 score mark. He achieved this through a combination of dedication, hark work and in game skills. We'd like to congragulate Littleman on this ground breaking accomplishment!

Blixtar was an extremely close second. It looked like he was going to be our first Elite member for a long time, unfortunately for him Littleman edged him out.

Both players done fantastically so as a reward, Littleman will be receiving a house in 1.5 and Blixtar will receive an Apartment room.  :)

ECNR Human Resources / The mIRC Script Team
« on: March 10, 2013, 05:13:03 pm »
I'm making this post on behalf of C1ark since he is unable to start a new topic in this board.

I'll first say a few words. Sylar did a fantastic job working on Rebel for us, by himself. However his recent decline in activity has forced us to hire a new man for the job. I assume Sylar will be a big part of this team when he can be. C1ark has shown me some of his talent when it comes to mIRC coding, so I think we'll be in good hands with this man. He's gonna need some help though, which is why we need an mIRC team. To come up with concepts, discuss pros and cons of features and to share code. I shall hand you over to C1ark:

Quote

The mIRC Scripting Team

The mIRC scripting team scripts the Rebel bot and all other things worth scripting.

The only requirement is a knowledge of mIRC scripting.

Announcements / Version 1.4c
« on: March 09, 2013, 07:49:36 pm »
Yeah this took a lot longer than I had expected it to! Hopefully it'll be worth it though. Not exactly any features added. Just a lot of bug fixes and much needed optimizations.

Code: [Select]
Changes:
Cops now spawn with 5k in order to pay for work expenses.
Got rid of the pointless abillity to ban a player from your business.
The /ram command is now more likely to work.
The timer for /egg has been removed. You can now eat as many as you like at once.
The_Core & OldMan's houses have been removed due to inactivity.
Removal of the "Moderator" status within the script.
Removal of Chainsaws. Too easy to abuse.
A new rank of "Legend" if someone manages to achieve 10,000 score. Become the first Elite member on ECNR by reaching 5,000 points...then put the icing on the cake by becoming the first Legend!
Reason for /adban will now show up in full.
It is now impossible to ride Jim's bus while wanted.
The BCsD now have to be spawned as law enforcement officers in order to:
-Use the armoury
-Drive BCSD vehicles
-Use the gate controls for the base entrance/exit

Optimizations:
A massive, much needed clean up of the script which included otimizations, removal of no longer used functions. Remove of useless and hardly ever used commands.
All the left over org crap has been cleaned out. Now the only Two official orgs is The Black Hand and The Bone County Emergency Services.
100s of unused objects removed.

Bug Fixes:
A bug with /team where you could invite unspawned members to your team.
Apartment vehicles will no longer fall through the car park.
Removed Neon lights from a house vehicle that shouldn't of had it.
Bomb shop owner being paid not echoing to IRC or players in game.
Issues with going and coming back from being an Undercover cop
All the police commands not showing on /commands
Not being able to buy a lotto ticket in certain stores.
Being able to use commands to avoid being Admin frozen
A car bomb not giving you score.
Informers being able to pass wanted levels onto bots.
The Black Hand bank transfers not echo'ing to their channel.
Black Hand bosses being able to use Admin commands from their channel.
Issues of being arrested in interiors and spawning back there upon release.
Keeping C4, smuggled items etc when arrested.
Pirate ship dialogue now displays the price for 10 blocks of warehouse C4.
It is now impossible to ride Jim's bus while wanted.

ECNR Store:
Deadpros purchased a mansion with a Pay'n'Spray, Armoury, gates and several vehicles, this has been implemented.
Due to Deadpro's loyalty to the ECNR Store, we gave him the option to give Two of his friends houses,
He chose Tedan & Hum, their houses are now usable.
Rage_Quit now owns Matt's apartment.

Eggman:
A new /eggnore command. Eggman has said he's willing to not send you dirty messages anymore if you ask him not to with /eggnore.
He also told me he won't block up the server messages anymore, that he'll choose to speak at other times.
Just when I thought he was going to be a good Egg, he let me know he has some more vicious, disgusting shit to say. :/ I'd recommend everyone /eggnore him!
That's it for 1.4c! If any bugs have been created with this version, please let me know and I'll get right on fixing it.

Let the hype for the massive 1.5 begin.  :)

Announcements / EGC's State Of Address
« on: March 05, 2013, 08:22:40 pm »
I felt like updating the community on our current plans going ahead. I will address several aspects of EGC as a whole.

My activity:
Recently I haven't been on as much as I was, however simply being here for less than 3/4 of the day would of achieved that due to the intense amount of hours I've been working on improving the community as a whole in the last 3 Months. The recent decline is due to a job I've attained for an accounting firm, this is only a Three week contract and I have no desire to work for such a large corporation, let alone an Accounting one. Therefor I plan on leaving after the Three weeks and refusing the renewal I expect them to offer. So in essence, don't worry, I shall be back in full swing soon. Which will give me enough time to work on the following.

ECNR:
We've been at 1.4b for a lot longer than I expected. You have a mixture of me being unexpectedly hired and Mr Watako to blame. Also the more positive reason for the delay is the fact a lot more work has gone into it than it expected, don't get me wrong it's nothing huge, but it's plenty for an update which isn't a full version upgrade. It's filled with bug fixes. Also some new features that I believe some people will like.
I'm hoping there will be no 1.4d, this is dependent on whether severe bugs occur and how well the ECNR store does between the release of 'c' and the possible 'd' version.

If a 1.4d is not neccesary, then we are free to move forward to the what I expected to be quite large 1.5. I plan on making 1.5 the largest update ECNR has seen to date. With a melody of new, large features and hopefully tying up all the loose ends of bugs we've had. With massive optimizations to top it off. I also want to give it a "New feel", maybe change some things around, more an appearance make over than anything else. Don't misunderstand that, I don't mean it will be more of an appearance change than new features, I just mean I'm hoping to give 1.5 it all, considering it's half way through the series and should be the largest update until 2.0. Mr Wataki will hopefully be adding his "Watako Affect" AKA, some pretty epic, advanced addition(s) which he has become known for.  Hopefully we won't need a 1.5b but if bugs occur, we've no choice. Once 1.5 and the potential 1.5b is released that frees me up to work on further projects for a while such as...

FGRPG:
I can assume many of you have become inpatient regarding the release of FGRPG, as have I. This is not Mr Watako's fault as I always have him running around doing things for ECNR which I haven't got time to.

Plans for FGRPG have changed quite a number of times recently, but it appears that we're now going with the original idea, a light role play Cops & Robbers server based in San Fierro. Of course this will not have even close to the features that ECNR will at the beginning, but we will be borrowing some from it. As of speaking, it's pretty much a basic script with minimal features. This should be changing soon. FGRPG's 1.0 version will be fairly basic. At this point we just want to get it released to give you guys something brand new. This by no means suggests we just want to put it out if it isn't up to standard and does not mean we will not be working heavily on adding to it's features.

I will be more heavily involved in FGRPG than we had originally thought, WatakiWatako will still be managing for the main part, but we will run it together more than once believed. This is more so that the community(s) don't have tension between them. "Byrner is better at running things!" "No, Wataki is!". Myself and Mr Watako have no desire to outdo eachother and we work very well together as a team, as you've all seen. So we will work on FGRPG together in a similar fashion to how we do ECNR.

The expected timeline for the first release of FGRPG is expected to be around a month after the release of 1.5. Don't quote me on this, but I'm hoping to have ECNR's 1.5 and FGRPG's 1.0 released by May. This is me just thinking now, but how amazing would it be if we could get it released on EGC's One Year anniversary that is coming up? Would be so fitting. I digress....Yeah, don't give up hope on FGRPG, I know we've let you believe it's a dead idea for a long time now, but we left the forum table available for a reason...it's still very much in our plans.

EGCM:
Mr Watako is the one giving the review here:
The player count isn't exactly stable. Fair enough, we've had upwards of 7 players at times but even then, we've got 32 slots to fill. Furthermore, should we reach the maximum capacity, we are able to expand. As of current, the server seems to sit empty most of the time with the exception of the weekends when we generally have a few players.

Since the servers listing was published, we have had a steady supply of new players, even when the server's empty. The problem is, they don't stick around. Why? Simple, an empty server is not attractive. This is multiplayer Minecraft, after all!

So. Let's make EGCM a successful Tekkit server.

I've recently made some significant improvements, to highlight some:
?Thanks to Lockette and the newly installed protection plugin, griefing is virtually impossible.
?The anti-cheat and administration tools have been vastly improved.
?World Anchors have been removed.
?Disabled the Tank Carts to prevent a nasty duplication glitch.
?Adjusted the Dynamic Map settings to reclaim some resources, you won't notice the difference.

World Anchor Removal
Unfortunately, the world anchors were having a massive impact upon the CPU usage of EGCM. Since they effectively simulate a player standing in the position at which the world anchor is placed, therefore keeping the surrounding chunk in the memory, we were practically seeing the CPU usage I'd expect with at least 40 players online while in all actuality, the server was empty. This isn't exactly helped by the fact that world anchors are almost always placed near complicated machinery and redstone circuits. The worst of which being timers!

Just to emphasise this, since disabling the world anchors, the server's tick rate has improved dramatically. You will notice that redstone timers actually tick every second, mobs move more fluently, lava actually flows and so on. It feels more like single player now.

Anyhow. Since they're now disabled, we are likely to notice a performance increase on ECNR, as well as EGCM.

That's all the doom and gloom out of the way. Looking to the future, you guys basically need to play more. All the server needs is a shove in the right direction, welcome the new players warmly and we'll soon be a major player in the Minecraft/Tekkit hosting world.

Happy crafting!

Radio:
Many of you have been dying for us to incorporate an EGC Radio to our arsenal, I do plan on doing so at some point, you'll all be happy to hear. The sole reason we haven't got one as we speak, is the low number of players that I believe would use it. I think we need a slightly larger community and more open interest in the radio. Put it this way, protest for it, you will get it!
When we do eventually get the station, I plan on having a large input in it, more than likely Chito will be running it, but he will have me in his ear quite often. We will host interviews, talk shows, open mic sessions, music broadcasts, skit shows, the works. Even educational broadcasts, myself and Hiredgun have been discussing doing one of them for months.

Our financial situation:
The ECNR has been absolutely booming the last few months, so many players looking for such large features, I've almost found it hard to keep up with the demand, haha!
Your contributions to EGC's future are greatly appreciated, especially during this personal financial slum I'm in, it really couldn't of come at a better time...I lose my job and everyone starts using the store! Without you, I'm not too sure we would of made it through the last few months.
It's almost at a point where we could afford to upgrade to a new and better Virtual Private Server. However the great risk in this is if the store starts doing poorly, I have no way of keeping up with the massive bills we currently have, let alone increasing them.
The current VPS is actually quite good, it just limits us from expanding too much, I'm afraid of what CPU & RAM usage we'll be at once FGRPG and the radio is online. We can thank EGCM for eating up most of our resources!

Future EGC Games:
To be honest, currently I have no games in mind to incorporate into EGC in the foreseeable future. If you've read the rest of this post, you know how many things we currently plan on doing, so I haven't exactly had time to think of other games to bring on board, let alone work on them. This does not mean I don't plan on expanding in the future, I'm simply letting you know our plans for the next Six months or so, which are pretty amazing even without the addition of a new game. We have a board on the EGC forum to suggest games for a reason, feel free to discuss anything you'd like to see us Sponsor.

The Community:
Last but certainly not least. I have an extreme attachment to this community, more so than I ever had with my previous community. Don't get me wrong, before my last places masses were brainwashed, I did love it there. Some of them thought they'd be better without me...we all know the condition they are in now. This lovely community on the other hand, for once I'm lost for words. You lovely people have never doubted me for a second, have been there to talk to me anytime you'd notice I'm not myself. I have become friends with so many people here it's unreal. Even people that were members of my former community that I never got a chance to speak to, I've become quite close with them. Places might insult EGC, they may say whatever they like about EGC. Even Stevie Wonder can see that it's pure and utter jealousy. They are simply unable to comprehend the family atmosphere we have here. We don't argue, we don't bully, we don't insult. This is not out of fear of being banned, it's not out of anything other than we see how immature and pointless it is. We all get along, we all enjoy eachothers company. That is what a community is supposed to be. It's not me that built the community we have today, it was all of you. You people came here and showed me just how a community is supposed to work. I had given up hope, I thought the people will decency within them no longer existed. I am so happy to say I was wrong about that. I look forward to coming here every day, to code, to play, to talk to you fine people. I thank you people for choosing EGC as your home and I will do everything I can to ensure you want it to remain that way. Thank every single one of you.

That is the Enigmatic Gaming Community state of affairs as of 05/03/2013. Now we all know where we stand.  :)

Announcements / CRRPG
« on: March 02, 2013, 02:00:57 pm »
I guess I need to address the drama, lol.

I will first state, people chose EGC for a reason. People stay at EGC for a reason. We are totally anti drama, anti bullying, anti immature idiocy. So we're basically anti everything CRRPG currently stands for, and damn proud of it. Which is why it's necessary I address the current influx of CRRPG players.

EGC retains the right to remove any people we see as a threat to our community's drama free atmosphere. Whether it be in advance or not. There is certain people who have genuinly seen the error of their ways, how they were brainwashed and how immature they have acted. Long before this current CRRPG no owner situation, people would talk to me on a regular basis apologizing for following the lies and manipulation. Them people have genuinely changed so there is no issue in them coming/remaining here.

It is the currently brainwashed. The current immature idiots. The current cancer that riddled through CRRPG that is not welcome here. If you are coming here, you can leave your present day CRRPG attitude at the door. We don't welcome idiots, we don't welcome immaturity.

Myself and the Administration team will be keeping an extremely close eye on these new players, any drama comes around, we will be nipping it in the bud, getting rid of it before it starts.

Enigmatic Gaming Community has been great to me, has truely supported me since day One, I will not let in be infected in return. I work damn hard for this community and this community works hard on it too, they try to improve us in every way we can. If anyone reading this thinks they can come and disrupt the family we've built here, we don't fucking think so. EGCOw3nsYew.

In summary; leave your bullying, your drama and your idiocy at the door and you will be fine.
